2025 Independence Day/4th of July Weekend – Port Operating Schedule

Friday, July 4, 2025, is Independence Day, America’s 249th birthday. In celebration of this national holiday, The Port of Virginia will observe the following operating plan:

Monday, June 30th

Tuesday, July 1st

  • Observing normal posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
  • At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Thursday, July 3rd
  • Empty return matrix for Monday, July 7th will be made available after 1500 hours

Wednesday, July 2nd

  • Observing normal posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
  • At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Monday, July 7th
  • No matrix release
  • Vessel and rail work continues

Thursday, July 3rd

  • Standard POV operations – observing posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
    • No release of PRO-PASS reservations
    • Empty return matrix for Tuesday, July 8th and Wednesday, July 9th will be made available after 1500 hours
    • Reservation creation and editing, within PRO-PASS, will be unavailable from 1900 hours on Thursday, July 3rd, until 0700 hours on Saturday morning, July 5th
  • HARD STOP for all terminal activities at 2359 hours

Friday, July 4th

  • National holiday
  • All POV truck gates will be closed

Monday, July 7th
