In recent weeks, there has been an increase in over-the-road drivers arriving to the marine terminals of Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) and Virginia International Gateway (VIG) with multiple RFID transponders within a single truck and additionally, covered or incorrect license plates that do not match the registration within PRO-PASS.
Please note this goes against policy and causes significant delays in processing.
Effective Monday, January 23, 2023 – drivers that arrive with a license plate that does not match the registration within PRO-PASS or with multiple RFID transponders within a single truck, will be turned away and banned, starting for a period of one (1) week.
We ask our motor carrier partners to communicate this message to your drivers and dispatch teams.
