Election Day and Veterans Day 2023 – Port of Virginia Holiday Operating Plan

Tuesday, November 7, is Election Day, and Saturday, November 11, is Veterans Day (state and federal holiday).

By contract, these holidays are also observed by our partners with the International Longshoremen’s Association. However, to ensure access to your cargo, all Port of Virginia terminals, and supporting facilities, will open, observing normal operating hours for container operations** on Tuesday, November 7. The Saturday program for VIG will continue on November 11.

** Note:  

1. If you are a breakbulk, out-of-gauge, and/or container freight station customer, please be advised that Cargo Division operations at NIT and NNMT will be CLOSED on Monday, November 13.
   • Breakbulk, out-of-gauge, and/or container freight station services for NIT, NNMT and VIG will be OPEN for Election Day on Tuesday, November 7
