UPDATE January 15, 2024
The National Weather Service has recently forecast severe weather expected to impact the Port of Virginia and surrounding areas later this afternoon and into this evening.
With safety as our priority, please note important closures for today, January 9, 2024, as detailed below:
- Norfolk International Terminal (NIT ) and Virginia International Gateway (VIG) portals will close at 15:00 hours
- Hard stop 1700 hours
- Pinner’s Point Container Yard (PPCY) and the Reefer Service Area (RSA) last trucks in / last units handled at 16:00 hours
- Hard stop at 1700 hours
- Portsmouth Chassis Yard (PCY) last chassis handled at 16:30 hours
- Richmond Marine Terminal (RMT) gates will close at 14:00 hours
- Hard stop at 15:00 hours
NIT, VIG, PPCY, PCY and the RSA will open at 0500 hours on Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12.
