The Port of Virginia Gate Hour Changes – Effective Monday, October 28, 2024

Effective Monday, October 28, 2024, The Port of Virginia will observe the following gate hour changes:

  • Norfolk International Terminal’s (NIT) truck gates will open at 0500 hours with an inbound portal close of 1700 hours
    • PRO-PASS mandatory reservation hours will be in effect from 0500 – 1400 hours at NIT
    • Non-mandatory reservation period will start at 1500 hours
    • Final reefer pick-up at 1630 hours

Effective Monday, November 4, 2024:

  • Virginia International Gateway’s (VIG) truck gates will open at 0500 hours with an inbound portal closure of 1700 hours
    • PRO-PASS mandatory reservation hours will be in effect from 0500 – 1400 hours at VIG
    • Non-mandatory reservation period will start at 1500 hours
    • Final reefer pick-up at 1630 hours
  • Pinner’s Point Container Yard (PPCY), the Portsmouth Chassis Yard (PCY) and Reefer Service Area (RSA) truck gates will open at 0500 hours with the last truck in / units handled at 1730 hours
    • All empty returns will be designated by the Empty Return Matrix

For two (2) consecutive Saturdays, October 26th and November 2nd, the Saturday gate program will be extended as follows:

  • Norfolk International Terminal’s (NIT) truck gates will open at 0700 hours with an inbound portal closure of 1100 hours
    • PRO-PASS mandatory reservation hours will be in effect at NIT
    • Final reefer pick-up at 1030 hours

The operational hours at all other marine terminals and support facilities will remain unchanged.
