National Port Partner Emergency Response Summit

ABOUT:
The Port of Virginia is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual National Port Partner Emergency Response Summit to be held in San Diego, California, November 12-13, 2025. This 2-day event builds on the success from last year’s Port Authority Emergency Response Summit, which produced significant discussions related to emergency preparedness and response within the port community.
- This summit will focus on priority issues within our port communities to include: recent events, protecting critical infrastructure, marine firefighting, emergency management and preparedness and protecting our first responders.
- Recommended attendees should be any federal, state, local agencies and commercial sector which may have responsibilities to ensure the preparedness, response and recovery to “All Hazards” events within the port community.

The Port of Virginia’s Maritime Incident Response Team (POV MIRT) delivers rapid, on-scene maritime expertise during all-hazard maritime incidents. As a critical liaison to the U.S. Coast Guard, and state and local incident commanders, MIRT ensures coordinated, expert response during all-hazard incidents in the maritime environment. Through advanced training, strategic drills, and resource development, the team strengthens emergency capabilities across the region—protecting lives, infrastructure, and operations.
