Thursday, July 4, 2024, is Independence Day, America’s 248th birthday. In celebration of this national holiday, The Port of Virginia (POV) announces the following operating plan:
Monday, July 1
- Observing normal posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
- At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Tuesday, July 2nd and Wednesday, July 3rd
- Empty return matrix for Friday, July 5th will be made available after 1500
- Vessel and rail work continues
Tuesday, July 2
- Observing normal posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
- At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Friday, July 5th
- Empty return matrix for Saturday, July 6th will be made available after 1500
- Vessel and rail work continues
Wednesday, July 3
- Standard POV operations – observing posted operating hours at all terminals and facilities
- At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Saturday, July 6th
- Empty return matrix for Monday, July 8th will be made available after 1500
- Reservation creation and editing, in PRO-PASS, will be unavailable from 1900 hours on Wednesday, July 3rd, until 0700 hours on Friday morning, July 5th
- HARD STOP for all terminal activities at 2359 hours
Thursday, July 4
- National holiday
- All POV truck gates will be closed
Friday, July 5
- 0700 hours truck gates OPEN at NIT, VIG, PPCY, PCY and the RSA
- At 0700 hours, PRO-PASS reservations can now be made, edited and validated
- At 0900 hours, PRO-PASS reservations will open for Monday, July 8th
- Empty return matrix for Tuesday, July 9th and Wednesday, July 10th will be made available after 1500
- NIT – inbound portal closure at 1700 hours
- VIG – inbound portal closure at 1800 hours
- PPCY and the PCY – last empty container delivery and pick-up at 1830 hours
- RSA – last units handled at 1730 hours
